Modular welfare blocks to Travellers Site, Summergangs Lane, Gainsborough

Client: Lincolnshire County Council

Type of Contract: Traditional

Project Duration: Jan 2011 to August 2011

Value: £1,200,000

Status: Completed

The works consisted of the upgrade and refurbishment of the travellers site providing new amenity blocks to the 21No Plots. These blocks were prefabricated modular buildings constructed off site and craned into position when the civils works (foundations / drainage / service connections) were completed. We also upgraded the site as a whole and provided new play facilities for the children and resurfaced the roads and provided new boundary fencing.

We carried out the installations over 6No Phases although we managed to reduce this phasing to 5No by liaising closely with the travellers and altering the decant sequence on the existing plots. Liaising closely with the residents was essential when working on a live travellers site and this went a long way to ensuring the project ran smoothly.
