Ludford Primary School
Client: Mouchel Business Services
Value: £25,000
Project Duration: 5 Days
Sadly, due to the closure of Ludford Primary School, Gelder Group Modular Buildings Division were requested to remove two demountable building.
Pat Richmond Demountable Buildings Manager commented “The site was very contained. Access was an issue due to the location of the existing building which was on a sloping site”
To gain access, the front entrance wall had to be completely demolished to allow the removal of the classroom, once the removal had taken place this was rebuilt. Great care was taken to rebuild the wall using existing materials in order to minimize the impact on the existing building as little as possible. Also once the building was removed, surfaces and surrounding areas had to be made safe and upgraded to DDA regulations for future use.
Paul Massam - East Midland’s Divisional Manager commented “We understand that cost is always in the forefront of our customers mind and on this project, working closely with the client meant we were able to propose one of the buildings be immediately sited to another school. This significantly reduced the client transport and storage costs. With our dedicated team and tradesmen we were able to act quickly to prepare the alternative site and avoid further transport costs to the client”.
