The new drama block consists of a steel framed structure on reinforced concrete pad foundations. Internal walls are load bearing masonry with the external facbric of the building being constructed using polished block work, larch building and Sto render, incorporating curtain walling with a lightweight composite roof. This project was a phased scheme.
The building consists of a drama studio, social space, toilet areas, music practise rooms, lift to the 1st floor areas, plant room music recital room and seven general classrooms.
Works were carried out within operation facilities, therefore careful planning and liaison with the client was necessary in order to minimise disruption and ensure the highest
standards of safety.
