The works comprised the design and construction of a new art teaching block from inception to completion comprising 1 Art Classroom, 1 Textiles / Art Classroom, 1 Teaching area – currently utilised for Drama, 3 Stores and a Kiln Room / Store.
Enabling works included the relocation of the existing 7 bay modular art classrooms which was carried out in-house.
The construction itself was piles with ground beams foundations, beam and block flooring, load bearing masonry, truss rafters with a tiled roof, aluminium external windows with associated internal finishes, fixtures and fittings – which incorporated perimeter benching to the two art classrooms, a large textiles table, art sinks to one classroom and perimeter blackout curtains to the perimeter of the teaching area. The works also incorporated a new covered area / link between the new and existing block.
