New Teaching Block St George's Academy, Sleaford
Client: St George’s Academy, Sleaford
Type of Contract: Design & Build
Project Duration: 16 Weeks
Value: £350,000
Status: Completed
The works comprised the design and construction of a new teaching block from inception to completion comprising 2 Classrooms, Clinical Teaching area, Office Accommodation, Community Room, Meeting Room, Staff Room / Kitchenette and a Buggy Store. At planning stage we negotiated and agreed with the local planning department works in respect to tree protection to the nearby mature trees to ensure that they were not damaged during the construction process.
During the construction we also discovered a 20 KVA mains electric cable. On behalf of the College we negotiated and arranged for the cables to be diverted whilst still continuing to construct the building so that the programme was not unduly affected – and as a result still handed over the project on programme. The construction itself was traditional strip foundations, beam and block flooring, load bearing masonry, truss rafters with a tiled roof, aluminium external windows with associated internal finishes, fixtures and fittings.
"We are delighted with the excellent standard of work carried out. The contract was brought in on time and Gelder Ltd co-operated fully with the College. We are very happy to recommend Gelder Ltd to you. We would hope to work with them again."
