Fire damage to semi-detached domestic property - Nottingham
Client: Cunningham Lindsey
Completion date: Anticipated Oct 2013
Value: £90k
Type of Contract: Standard
Project duration: 12 weeks
Following an incident at a property in Nottingham, Gelder Group were requested to attend to a property that had suffered a roof fire and resultant damage to the first floor of the semi-detached domestic property.
Deborah Harrison of Cunningham Lindsey contacted our Barlborough office to request we attend on an emergency basis, and due to the proximity of our regional offices we were able to attend within 10 minutes of the call to meet her on site. Our swift presence ensured we were able to agree a course of action for emergency works, which included the erection of scaffold and the removal of the front gable facade to ensure the structural stability of the property.
Our supply chain of Gelder Approved Suppliers ensured that quotes and approvals were received the same day and the property was structurally sound and watertight within 24-hours of notification.
Our Contracts Manager, Phil Rex, continues to work closely with Deborah on the claim as she liaises with insurers to move the claim forward, seeking authorisation to erect a top hat scaffold to the property.
At such a difficult time for the policyholder we have tried to ensure the smooth management of the claim as we appreciate that the effects of a house fire can be a frightening and upsetting experience, and they have expressed their satisfaction of our handling of the claim so far by calling us "the 4th emergency service"
