£6m Project Remains on Schedule

Despite January’s sub-zero temperatures, Gelder Group’s largest ever project, the 2 year, £6m refurbishment and remodelling of the Lincoln Co-op’s Birchwood Shopping Centre remains on target for a 2010 completion.

Phase 1 was completed to programme which allowed the phase 2 demolition of existing retail units to take place and allowing the foundations to the new retail units and 18 one and two bedroomed apartments to be commenced.

Project Manager, Brian Saville stated that “it is a real challenge having to carefully co-ordinate the works to ensure that the existing retail units remained open throughout the project”.
