Group Prepare for Royal Visit
Five years after HRH Duke of Gloucester’s 2005 visit to Gelder Groups offices to open the then new office wing, stores and car park, he’s returning on Thursday 17th June 2010 to carry out similar duties, opening the Group’s 15 acre environmental project and further wing of offices.
For security reasons, the visit couldn’t be announced to staff or the general public until 19th April 2010 but a project delivery team were set up several weeks before and have brought forward the entrance remodelling project in readiness for his visit.
The project team is being headed by Matt Salton, who commented, “there’s nothing quite like a Royal Visit to focus you on the job in hand, during the past four weeks we have installed a 6000 sq ft car park, topped 1.5 miles of paths to the environmental project with carboniferous limestone, demolished 1700 square foot of old barns and are well on the way to completing 1100 square foot of additional office space”.
At the time of HRH Duke of Gloucester’s first visit, Gelder Group employed 150 staff from its Head Office complex and had sales of £15m. The Group now employs over 300 staff out of 6 regional offices, has 7 separate subsidiary companies and annual sales in excess of £30m.
