Polythene & Cardboard Recycled
A ?10,000 investment in the Gelder Group?s waste management arm, Greentech, is enabling the company to recycle all waste polythene and cardboard from across the Group.
The polythene and cardboard are sorted from skips and then fed into a new Mardon bailing machine (see photo) which compresses it into ? tonne bails which can then be sold on.
Greentech?s site manager, David Stainton, commented that ?The Group?s investment in this new piece of plant provided further evidence of Gelder Group?s commitment to recycling and the environment?. Adding that ?This latest initiative meant that 80% of the waste produced by the Group is now being recycled. A target that has been achieved 3 months ahead of schedule?.
