Biomass Boiler Installed

Gelder Group?s Dunholme site is now being heated by a biomas boiler (pictured) using waste timber sorted from Greentech skips, the Group?s waste management company.

Timber is sorted into reusable and waste bins and then the waste timber is placed into the incinerator.  Heat from the incinerator then heats the 17,500 sq ft of warehousing and offices and also heats all the hot water required on the site.

Gelder Group?s Managing Director, Steve Gelder comments ?Using waste timber to heat such large premises is a very efficient use of our waste.  It also saves transport costs, preserves fossil fuels and reduces the amount of waste we send to landfill?.

The biomas boiler represents a ?38,000 investment by the Group and has been installed by Gelder Group?s in house plumbing and heating division.
