Group Takes Stock of 'Fishy Friends'
On the 24th February over 1000 fish were introduced to the Group?s 1 acre lake, to the rear of its Head Office in Sturton by Stow.
This milestone in the Group?s environmental project follows on from the introduction of over 3,200 trees in December (see previous news story). It is expected that within 6 months the fish will be producing offspring.
Environmental Officer, James Hill took delivery of 7 species of fish including, Gudgeon, Tench, Rudd, Roach, Ide, Bream and Ghost Carp, from Epperstone Park Hatcheries.
James commented ?Introducing the fish to the lake is a key stage in developing it as a fully functioning and vibrant eco-system?
