'Business Development Team' Training Day

The Gelder Group?s Business Development Team held their first meeting of 2009. Presentations were given by directors Russell Cunliffe (Finance) Kevin Manterfield (Major Contracts) Dave Gladwin (Construction) & Steve Gelder (MD).  The presentation concentrated on 2008?s record year and the tough business environment 2009 has brought with it.

The event was held at the PGL Activities Centre, Caythorpe Court. The rest of the day focused on entrepreneurial spirit & team work with the group being divided in to two teams (major contacts & small works) for the afternoon.

The afternoon?s activities covered a variety of practical tasks developing team work, communication, achievement of objectives, conquering fears, and planning & preparation. The teams were continually scored throughout the day, with the winning side being awarded a trophy & bottle of wine each for their efforts at the evening meal & presentation.

This event kicks off an inter-department challenge across the group, where 9 teams along with two customers will compete throughout the summer for the ?Gelder Group Champion Team? title, organised by the group?s Training Academy.

The winning department will receive a trophy at a winners presentation, along with better understanding of team dynamics & the power of teamwork.
