RSS FeedInsurance, Repair & Renovation Division?s Inaugural Go-Karting Event a Success!
The Gelder Group?s inaugural corporate ?Go-Karting? event held on Tuesday 5th May 2009 was a great success.
Seven representatives from the group along with fifteen insurance network customers attended the event at ?Kartsport?, the country?s premier karting track at Brandon near Grantham.
Competitors were split into eleven teams of two and a further two larger teams the ?Greens? and the ?Reds?. Fierce competition ensued for the prizes of ?overall team?, individual team? and individual racer?.
Triumphant team winners were Darren Thorpe of Howard Ward Associates and Mark Hodges of Merlin, with Darren Thorpe also receiving the trophy for fastest lap.
Hot on their heels in second place were Phil Frost of Davies Lost Adjusters and Steve Gelder of the Gelder Group.
Third place was secured by Simon Dennett of Facilitas and Mike Anyon of NHBC.
The Gelder Group?s Construction Director Dave Gladwin won a hollow victory, with his team the ?Greens?, being awarded (after much dispute) first prize in the overall team event; along with his personal achievement of ?wooden spoon? for the slowest individual team!
