A new property development company Tillbridge Developments has been set up by Giles Walter, John Barker and Steve Gelder. The new venture will look at all commercial development opportunities, but will initially concentrate on the convenience food sector, neighbourhood centres and strategic residential sites in the East Midlands, East Anglia & Yorkshire regions. The company already has several sites under consideration but has an appetite for many more.
The company is the brain child of Giles Walter and John Barker. Giles was formerly Development Director at Simons Developments. During his time at Simons, Giles delivered over ?0.5 Billion projects including the ?125 million, St Mark?s Shopping Centre in Lincoln & the ?90 million City Walk Scheme in Leeds. His last development was an ?86 million shopping centre in south Wales. Giles is also a non executive director of NHS Lincolnshire, the 5th largest Primary Care Trust in the country with an annual budget of ?1.1 billion.
John Barker has spent the last 20 years in the property industry, fifteen as an agent in Nottingham dealing with commercial and residential development opportunities throughout the East Midlands on behalf of the likes of East Midlands Development Agency, the Co-Op, British Waterways, ( Barratt ) Wilson Bowden, local authorities, Bellway , other major house building Plc?s and various land owners. More recently he has been a developer and acted as a consultant to other property companies.
The Gelder Group has made an undisclosed but ?significant? investment in to the new venture and Steve Gelder commented; ?It took me about 2 seconds to realise that Giles? and John?s proposals had terrific potential.
