On Tuesday 11 August 2009, work on the new access road (see previous news feature) was disrupted following the discovery of a well between River Cottage and the old outbuildings that are now the Contract Managers Office for Majors ? see picture below.

| It is assumed that the well that appears to be constructed in the same stone as the original cottage and outbuilding originally served the old cottage and outbuildings and it is approximately 1 metre wide and over 4.5 metre deep ? see further pictures below. | ||

Daniel Charles Construction whilst carrying out the works were shocked to discover that for the second time this year a well had been discovered whilst working on a project for the Gelder Group. The previous well was discovered whilst working on an extension for Steve Gelder. On hearing the news Steve Gelder has added ? ?I hope they do not come in threes and that this one is a wishing well as I?ve tried putting money in the one at home and it doesn?t seem to work?. Daniel Charles Construction are continuing to progress with the works as WELL as can be expected! |
