Gelder Group Receive Gold Certificate of Recognition

The Gelder Group became only the 5th UK Company ever to receive the Investors in People Gold Standard Certificate of recognition.

Since the Investors in People?s launch in 1991 only 40,000 of the UK?s 2.16 million registered businesses have achieved IIP status and, at the time of going to print, only 5 have achieved the gold standard, with no UK building company having achieved the recognition.

The new IIP gold standard was introduced in May 2009 with the introduction of 3 new tiers of accreditation, bronze, silver and gold sitting above the existing standard.  The aim of the new award was to promote a higher level of achievement with companies undergoing re-assessment of their existing IIP standard.

Steve Gelder commented ?by any measurement, receiving this award is a fantastic achievement, only the 5th UK company to receive the award, the first building company to receive it and the 1st Lincolnshire company.  It reinforces the fantastic team spirit that exists in this organisation, an organisation that I feel very proud to head?.

Other awards received by the Group during 2009 include The Learning and Skills Councils ?best company to work for? award for the company?s commitment to training and the Lincolnshire Environmental awards for the company?s commitment to the environment.  The company is also amongst the finalists at the National Recycling Awards to be held at London?s Park Lane, Hilton in October, the Lincolnshire Media Awards finals held at Lincolnshire Showground?s Epic Centre on 12 November and has just been voted in to the Building Magazines list of the Top 100 companies to work for.
