Planning Permission Received for 12,500 sq ft Extension to Greentech

Gelder Group’s waste management company, Greentech, has received planning permission to extend its recycling facilities at its Dunholme base by some 12,500 square feet.

Greentech  has received national recognition for its construction waste recycling rate of 94% compared to the industry average of 72%, but its current facilities are limiting the company’s effectiveness as its business activities expand.

This new building, which will represent a significant investment for the Group, has been designed to accommodate state of the art recycling plant that will significantly increase the operational capacity of the site and further increase the company’s recycling figures. The original 17,000 sq ft, 1960’s built structure will be replaced by a larger building in Greentech’s corporate cream and green colours.

Gelder Group’s Environmental Officer, James Hill, commented that  “this new building and the plant contained within it will ultimately represent a £1m investment by the Group that will help us meet our aspirations of becoming the region’s greenest construction company by 2014, sending no waste to landfill and significantly reducing our environmental impact in the process”.
