DIY SOS Presenter Nick Knowles praises Gelder Groups generosity

For the second time in 6 months the Gelder Group have become involved with Nick Knowles and his DIY SOS, this time completing a radical re-design of TESCO “mum of the year” property in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire.

Julie Jones is a single mother of three boys who has taken on the upbringing of the five orphaned children of her best friend who sadly died of a brain tumour in 2009, and then in 2010 husband David also died, unexpectedly, from a stroke.

When the call came in from the shows researcher asking for Gelder Group’s regional manager Bill Gilsenan if they could help, the answer was yes, absolutely and in all 17 Gelder trades gave up their time providing plumbing, joinery, piling and decorative expertise.

The works were all completed in 9 days, a huge achievement and will make good TV viewing when the show is aired in the summer.
