RBS Managing Director visits Gelder Groups Head Quarters

Following the completion of a multi-million pound re-financing deal that has seen the Gelder Group’s main banking facilities move from Lloyds to NatWest (Part of RBS). The company welcomed the banks Commercial Director, Steve Mathews to its offices in Lincoln where he spent three hours learning all about the business.

Moving banks was the conclusion of six months behind the scenes work by the Groups Finance Department, the culmination of which was the switch to RBS/NatWest who not only demonstrated great enthusiasm for the deal but managed to come up with innovative ways in which to finance the Groups ever growing Insurance Repair & Renovation Division as well as commercial development projects in both Gainsborough and Nottingham.

Steve Mathews comments “I really enjoyed my time at the Gelder Group, they are an innovative company who’s social environment and ethical approach to business is to be commended”, adding “It’s a great business and one that we are proud to be associated with”.

On the visit Gelder Groups MD Steve Gelder comments “Re-financing any business is a challenge, even more so in the current climate.  Re-financing a £40 million plus operation is a huge undertaking in itself, add to this re-structuring the whole way in which the company raises finance broken up across nine separate divisions, six separate companies and a holding company and there are a lot of meetings to attend, forms to be completed and at times it begins to take over your whole life.  I am therefore grateful for the support and assistance of our whole finance team.  I am also grateful for the dedication and enthusiasm for the deal shown by our local NatWest branch in Lincoln which was clearly in evidence with their efforts in getting Steve to pay us a visit”
