RSS FeedGelder Group on it's way to Green Glory!
The Gelder Group has won a Green Apple Environment Award in the national campaign to find Britain’s greenest companies, councils and communities. Competing against more than 500 nominations, we have won either a Bronze, Silver or Gold ‘Green Apple Award’ to be presented at a ceremony in the House of Commons on November 12th. As a result of this success, we have been invited to have our winning paper published in The Green Book, the leading international work of reference on environmental best practice so that others around the world can follow our example and learn from our experiences.
Furthermore, we will also be considered to represent the country in the European Business Awards for the Environment. On the Award Steve Gelder commented “Over the years Gelder Group has invested significant sums into both social and environmental projects” adding “Planting thousands of trees, building a lake, recycling and significantly reducing our carbon footprint so we are delighted to be recognised nationally for all our efforts”. The Green Apple Awards began in 1994 and have become established as the country’s major recognition for environmental endeavour among companies, councils, communities and countries.
