A day in the life of a Gelder Group Employee

 

‘’Over the past four days, we have been whirled round the Gelder group business. From reception work, to surveying; web design, to stores; we have experienced a wide variety of Gelder group jobs, in a short period of time. We never knew that the company had so many sections, which makes it a thriving business.

On the first day of work experience within Gelder group, I was put into reception; doing various secretarial tasks and Sam was put into the Design department; in which he had to create a two storey house floor plan on Computer Aided Design. On the second day, I travelled around various locations with Rodney Fagg, taking on the roll of a surveyor and doing the various tasks that that particular job entailed. Sam, however went into the ‘Home and Dry’ department, visiting sites and checked that all of the proceedings were going to plan. During the penultimate day within the Gelder Group, we were situated in the Redline Building Supplies; where we had to undertake various tasks, like putting together orders, collecting stock and cleaning machinery.   On our last day, we were put into the web design department and created a mini website, designed business cards and compiled leaflets.

Throughout our time at Gelder group, we have enjoyed the various activities that we have been set and have tried our best to behave and fulfill tasks like an employee. We have enjoyed our work experience and would like to thank all those that helped."
