North Midlands Office welcomes its first female apprentice

Area Manager Mick Millership is delighted to take on the very first female apprentice at our Barlborough branch.  Emily Murdoch had to fight off tough competition from over 40 applicants who applied for an apprenticeship at Barlborough. 17 year old Emily from Rainworth near Mansfield after leaving school attended the West Notts Construction College where she acquired the talent to become a painter and decorator.  Emily who is truly a team player, and describes herself as a bit of a tom boy, is also a keen swimmer with the Mansfield Swimming Club, and is a second Dan Black belt.

When asked about her apprenticeship Emily said “I am very proud to get an apprenticeship with the Gelder Group, I’ve heard a lot of good things about Gelders and that it’s a good company to work for.  I really want to work hard to prove myself by gaining good qualifications, and can’t wait to get stuck into my work”.
