AXA CEO Amanda Blanc presents 'Team of Champions' Cup to Natalie Moxham

Bravery, dedication and commitment earns Natalie Moxham “Team of Champions” trophy which was presented by AXA CEO Amanda Blanc. Headaches and numbness in her legs lead to Insurance Administrator Natalie Moxham paying a trip to her local GP. Little did she know that this would lead to a meeting at Leeds General Infirmary with a Neurosurgeon who informed her that an old riding accident had damaged two vertebrates and that these had moved and caused damage to her spinal cord. Worse still, the only cure involved an operation involving a bone graft through Natalie’s throat on to her spine which if not carried out would lead to “catastrophic” consequences and on top of that Natalie was advised that although this was a lifesaving operation it was highly risky and came with a 50% chance of paralysation.

Natalie undertook the operation in July, it was a success, although she did need to learn to walk again and to the delight of her colleagues she signed herself off sick and returned to work a mere six weeks later.

Everyone at Gelder Group, particularly within the Groups Insurance Repair and Renovation Division, were ecstatic to see Natalie beck at her desk and looking so well just weeks after such a worrying time and frightening operation so it was rather fitting that the company arrange for an insurance industry superstar – Amanda Blanc - to present the Group’s “Team of Champions” trophy to its very own superstar during her recent visit to the company.

Natalie receives £250 to spend on her colleagues and comments “I’m thrilled with the award, the £250 will be spent wisely - probably on alcohol!”. Adding “ I just now need to convince my husband that I deserve some shoes like Amanda’s, she was brilliant and her shoes, just amazing”
