National Training Awards 2012 honours our Group Training Manager – Mike Johnson
Every year a very special award is made in the memory of Linda Ammon who passed away in 2004, Linda was the Chief Executive of UK Skills and championed the National Training Awards. As a true advocate of these awards Linda made an inspirational impact ensuring that the National Training Awards are recognised as the highest accolade in training. The Linda Ammon award is presented to an individual who the judges deem to have been similarly inspirational within their organisation.
Mike Johnson our Group Training Manager was crowned Award Winner at this year’s event held at the NEC in Birmingham. Theo Paphitis who present the award said “Mike has spearheaded training at the Gelder Group and has inspired and led the groups training department from strength to strength, in addition Mike’s team have been making a dramatic difference to the lives of vulnerable individuals”.
Speaking about the award Mike commented: “I am delighted and honoured to have won the Linda Ammon Award, to be recognised at this level is something that happens to others but when your name is announced it’s a great feeling. Winning this award is all about team effort, I’d like to personally thank everyone in my team, and those we work alongside for their hard work and dedication”.
