Gelder Group Take part in Year 10 Careers Day at Lincoln Christ's Hospital School

The world of work came to Lincoln Christ Hospital School on Friday 1st February with fifty businessmen and women from across Lincoln spending the morning with Year 10 students.  The Year 10 pupils took part in a mock interview with local businesses who gave up their time to conduct 1-1 interviews in order to prepare pupils for the real deal.

Students spent the day in smart interview clothes and had prepared for the interview to get real benefit from the day by writing a C.V and a letter of application to various businesses.

Allison Foley Work-Related Learning Co-coordinators for LCHS said”our pupils really have taken this experience seriously, their commitment and preparation of CVs and letters of application have been overwhelming and the standard was excellent.  Everyone had certainly risen to the challenge.  Gelder Groups support as usual has been fantastic and Mike and Adam made this an event to remember by making the interviews as near to “real life” as they possibly could be. Commenting Mike Johnson said “pupils were interviewed in a real situation, assessed, and then valuable feedback was given to each individual, thereby equipping them with hints and tips for future successful interviews, preparing them for the world of work”.
