The Gelder Squad celebrate their 5-a-side win over Langleys

After a 5 week break the Gelder 5-a-side squad once again returned to the pitch to be met by the newcomers of the league, Langleys.

With a fully rejuvenated squad the Gelder boys ran their hearts out for the full 60 minutes showing great determination and scoring prowess. Our opponents proved to be a good match for the Gelder team, having 3 fresh legged substitutes to call upon.

Without a shadow of doubt the Man of the Match was our own Finance Director, Russell Cunliffe, scoring 5 of the 10 goals for the team, one being a superb strike from just past the half way line ultimately finding its way to the top left corner of the goal, an unstoppable shot….

Further goals came from our Team Captain, Adam Ellwood, and our Ex-Langley’s player Rob ‘the wonder boy’ Cavill, to end the score at 10-8.

Special mentions must also go to our Goal Keeper, James Pickering, who kept the team in the game with some great saves and our defender, Arran Fullwood, who had one of his best games so far, keeping the Langley’s attackers at bay.

This was a close match right to the final whistle and it was a great feeling for the Gelder squad to return from the Easter break with a superb win. Well done!

Goals: - Russell Cunliffe – 5  Adam Ellwood - 3 Rob Cavill - 2
