Shire Pile System of Foundation Stabilisation and Structural Masonry Repair training day proves very popular
A third shire pile and helical masonry reinforcement training day is to be held at Gelder Groups Training Academy in November, the date to be announced shortly. Initially one day had been planned during September but was so oversubscribed a second was held on 5th October.
The day, which includes three separate sessions for installers engineers and surveyors teaches the science behind the system, includes a practical demonstration, attracts continuing Professionalism Development Points (CDP) and has now been attended by representatives from national insurance services providers, GAB Robins, Merlin, SP Property Services, Davies Loss Adjusters, Crawford Loss Adjusters, Kier Insurance Management Services, Optimax as several well as Gelder Group employees.
Group Training Manager Mike Johnson commented that “we initially organised one event for our own staff and then opened it up to external clients as we had a couple of spaces spare, we were then somewhat overwhelmed with the response leading to a further course being held in October and now November – we will probably have to run another early in the new year as well”.
Gelder Groups Training Academy, with its unique setting and three training rooms provides around 1,500 training man days annually but this is set to increase with it’s recent investment in to a specialist ‘flood building’ that will be completed in November and will provide the Group with facilities to run courses on the correct management, drying and reinstatement of properties affected by flooding and escapes of water which is of great interest to the Groups insurance clients.
