The Lincolnshire business community heaped praise on Gelder Group MD Steve Gelder recently by presenting him with their 2013 Lifetime Achievement Award at a glittering ceremony at the Lincolnshire Showground Epic Centre in front of 370 people.
The award, sponsored by Lincolnshire Media in partnership with Lincolnshire Chamber of Commerce caught Steve somewhat off guard as he commented “I was actually sat at the back of the room and this was the last award of the evening. I had an 8am meeting in Manchester the following day so I was contemplating a speedy exit. At 47 I’m obviously not expecting to receive ‘a life time achievement award’ and was more concerned about how much sleep I would be getting and the 4.30am alarm call. When I heard the words “started off as a two man operation and then my name was called out, I was stunned and absolutely speechless, it didn’t really sink in until a couple of days afterwards”
On the award Steve comments “Although the award in front of 370 business peers was a very proud moment for me personally the reality is that I was collecting it on behalf of my colleagues and co-directors. I receive too many plaudits, the team really deserves the credit, they work so hard, deliver a brilliant service to our customers and continually drive forward the Gelder Group business”
