Retford a Blaze with Glory

Work has begun on the demolition and construction of the new Retford Fire Station.  All crew have been temporarily moved to allow full works to be completed within the designated timeframe.  Major Contracts are excited to be undertaking a build with such community importance and look forward to the opening in October 2014.

The new station will be much more modern and cost efficient than the existing one – costing approximately a third to a half of what it currently costs to run.

The station will also become a new northern training hub for the whole of Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service, with an upgraded Road Traffic Collision training area and a brand new ‘firehouse’ for breathing apparatus training. In addition the station will become the northern hub for the Service’s vehicle maintenance function.
