RSS FeedTraining Manager guest speaker at Bishop Grosseteste University Employability Awards
Mike Johnson Group Training Manager was a guest speaker at Bishop Grosseteste Employability Awards during which over 40 students were presented with their award. Speaking at the event Mike praised the work of Eve Stuart and Allison Lawrence from BG in developing the Employability Award and the undergraduates BG Networking Club with the Gelder Group. The club has been designed for undergraduates and is also open to recent graduates. The plan for 2014/2015 is to further develop the Employability Award to an accreditation with City & Guilds or ILM.
Eve Stuart BG’s Career& Employment Manager commented:” The Employability Award highlights to our students the importance of developing their employability skills alongside studying for their degree. It’s a tough job market out there, and students who realise this know that they have to ‘Stand out from the Crowd’ in order to get the best jobs. As always the input from the Gelder Group is so valuable in getting our students to understand how important these activities are to employers”.
