Holbrook School for Autism gets new facilities from Maintenance Department
The contract to develop the School’s facilities at Holbrook, Derby was awarded to the Maintenance Department at Gelder Group by Derby County Council.
The huge project consisting of kitchen area where they can learn to cook and prepare food and prepare for adult life, four main class rooms ,reception area ,medical rooms ,shower areas and a common room as well as others.
On the project site Manager Andy Carpenter commented “The infrastructure for this building has been a big challenge with landscapes being altered to form a huge retaining wall ,drainage systems for both foul and surface water ,mains services gas, water, electric and BT being required”, adding “This has been a challenging job but the finished buildings will make a huge difference to staff and teenagers in the Belper and surrounding areas” .
