Rebecca Pearson will be taking on the boys in the final of Dulux Decorator Centre’s Apprentice of the Year competition, after being named the highest scoring runner up in the nationwide heats.
Rebecca, aged 20 and from Saxilby in Lincoln, is the only female through to the final of the competition and will be up against eight other finalists, all hoping to be named Dulux Decorator Centre’s Apprentice of the Year 2010.
Rebecca, who competed in the Midlands heat held at Walsall College after being nominated by her tutor Paul Wilcockson, was named as the highest scoring runner up, from a total of 94 other painting and decorating apprentices across the country, to secure herself a place in the final.
Rebecca’s lecturer, Paul, also commented: “It is fantastic that Rebecca has got through to the final as the highest scoring runner up and we are delighted she will be representing Lincoln College
The final will be held at Leeds College on Thursday 17th June
