In August of this year the Gelder Group completed the 2nd phase of £3,6 Million sheltered housing project on Cambridge Road in Grimsby for Longhurst and Havelok Homes. Having constructed the 1st phase in 2010 the Gelder Group's Major Contract's Division was able to use their knowledge and experience gained during the 1st phase to deliver a high quality finish with in the client's programme and financial demands.
Cliff Meyer acted as Project Manager and Gavin Parker as Contracts Manager for both phases of the scheme, and their management experience was used to overcome such difficulties as piling with in a restricted site, demolition of the former care home (which was next to phase 1's completed structure) and the winter of 2010/2011 where temperatures touched on -20 degrees.
The client and the employer's agent thanked Gelder Group for their contribution and commented that “it had been a pleasure working with Gelder Group on this scheme".
