Gelder Group Commissions Artwork for New Offices
A Cradley Arts group which helps adults with disabilities express themselves through art has been commissioned to produce artwork for a local office block.
The Oaks Project, based at Cradley Enterprise Centre, was launched last year by artist and support worker Chris Self and is now recognised as one of the best of its kind in the country.
After seeing the students work, bosses at The Gelder Group commissioned them to design artwork for its new West Midlands Office.
Chris from the Oaks Project said: “We were delighted to be asked by The Gelder Group to design two pieces of art for their new offices. We want to undertake more work for commercial organisations and we can offer the inspiration to improve local workplaces with our art.”
West Midlands Contracts Manager, Wayne Richards commented “The group became aware of the high quality artwork that The Oaks Project students produce and we took the commission very seriously and are very proud of the end result. We are delighted with the finished paintings and, following a presentation, the two pieces have been installed by the students.”
